Friends the Secretary of State and the Secretaries of State for the Environment and for Trade and Industry had a very useful discussion with the representatives of the Confederation of British Industry on unemployment in the regions. We are giving close consideration to the various ideas put forward, which were concerned with both short-term and longer-term measures.
