§ The Prime MinisterOn 14th October I held an informal meeting at Brighton with a number of city leaders, including the Leader of the Liverpool City Council. We discussed several matters of mutual interest to the Government and to local authorities, including the Government's measures designed to reduce unemployment through increased investment in infrastructure, such as the £160 million public works programme.
