§ Mr. Marplesasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when he expects to implement the proposals circulated by the Board of Trade in January, 1970, including the proposal to bring sherry and other wines within the requirements for marking capacity on the bottles.
§ Mr. Nicholas RidleyI cannot yet say when I will be able to implement the proposed changes to the provisions of the schedules to the Weights and Measures Act, 1963. In the past few months we have had a series of talks with organisations whose members would be affected by the proposed changes. In the case of wine we are keeping in touch with E.E.C. officials to ensure that any requirements we introduce are consistent with those introduced by the Community, from which, as my right hon. Friend is well aware, a large part of our supplies is drawn.
