asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many arrests were made by the army in West Belfast on Monday, 22nd and Tuesday, 23rd November; and what arms and ammunition were found.

I have been asked to reply.

Between 8 a.m., 22nd November, and 8 a.m., 24th November, the Army arrested 37 people in West Belfast and found a variety of items, including the following:

2 rifles.
6 pistols and revolvers.
19 rounds of ammunition.
1 grenade.
