§ 60. Mr. Palmerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement setting out progress being made in the re-assessment of steel box girder bridges including those in and around the City of Bristol.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerReassessment of steel box girder bridges is progressing as quickly as the very detailed procedures permit. It should be completed for the Aust and Wye Bridges in early 1972. I expect erection of the Avonmouth Bridge to recommence shortly. The Cumberland Basin Bridge is owned by the City of Bristol and is a matter for that authority.
