§ Mr. Dudley SmithIn the Pontypridd, Ferndale, Llantrisant, Tonypandy, Tonyrefail and Treorchy travel-to-work area, the provisional number of notified vacancies for males remaining unfilled at November, 1971, was 187 and the number of males registered as wholly unemployed was 2,819. The corresponding figures for young persons were 36 and 332, respectively. The vacancy figures relate only to notified vacancies remaining unfilled and do not purport to measure the total unsatisfied demand for labour.
