§ Mr. AmeryAbout 265,000 fair rents are registered in England and Wales, including about 16,000 determinations by rent assessment committees. The information requested by the hon. Member is not available; nor would it be relevant, since the rent officer or rents assessment committee has a statutory duty to register rents which, in accordance with the statutory criteria for fair rents, they judge to be fair, irrespective of any rent proposed by either party or both.
