§ Sir K. JosephThe National Health Service (Superannuation) Regulations provide for the payment of injury allowances to or in respect of any person covered by the regulations including a doctor who is permanently incapacitated or who dies in these circumstances. The Superannuation Bill will enable a new code of injury allowances to be introduced covering all persons engaged in health services, whether superannuable or not. The provisions of the new code will be for negotiation on the Joint Superannuation Consultative Committee for the National Health Services. Where a person is not permanently incapacitated the normal provisions for paid sick leave apply.
