§ Mr. Leslie Huckfieldasked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) whether he is satisfied with the operation of Section 22 of the National Insurance Act, 1965; and if he will make a statement;
(2) whether he will now seek powers to revise the existing provisions relating to disqualification for unemployment benefit in consequence of recent decisions of the Commissioners relating to the grade or class and direct interest provisions of Section 22 of the National Insurance Act, 1965.

I am satisfied that Section 22 of the National Insurance Act, 1965 normally works satisfactorily I have, however, undertaken to discuss with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment the recommendations which the Royal Commission on Trade Unions and Employers' Associations made about Section 22(1).
