§ Mr. Gryllsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what arrangements have been made, following upon the termination of the Special Treaty relationship between Her Majesty's Government and the Bahrain Government on 15th August last for the operation of Bahrain International Airport.
§ Mr. GodberThe Government of Bahrain have assumed international responsibility for civil aviation matters but Her Majesty's Government have agreed that, as a measure of assistance, the Department of Trade and Industry will continue to share the cost of civil airport operation with the Government of Bahrain until the end of 1971. The cost of this to Her Majesty's Government is not expected to differ appreciably from that which would have arisen if, as was a possibility, the special treaty relationship had continued until the end of 1971.
