HC Deb 18 November 1971 vol 826 cc213-4W
Q11. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement on his recent official discussions in London with the French Foreign Minister, Monsieur Schumann.

Mr. Maudling

I have been asked to reply.

When my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister met M. Schumann on 12th November they discussed the enlargement of the European Communities and a variety of international questions of interest both to France and the United Kingdom. M. Schumann also had extensive discussions with my right hon. Friend the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary; and I would draw the hon. Member's attention to the Anglo-French Declaration published at the end of his visit, a copy of which is in the Library of the House.
