asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from chief constables to show the country of origin of all vehicles owned by their respective forces; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend already receives annual returns from which this information can be obtained They show that at 31st March this year some 40 vehicles out of about 19,000 then held by the police in England and Wales were imported or of foreign design.
