§ 70. Mr. Moateasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will propose to the Scandinavian members of the European Free Trade Association a scheme for the limitation of newsprint imports into the United Kingdom by means of voluntary quotas.
§ Mr. Anthony GrantNo. The United Kingdom industry decided to follow the earlier representations made by Her Majesty's Government to Finland, Norway and Sweden with talks on an industry-to-industry basis. As indicated in the reply given today to my hon. Friend's similar Question, these have resulted in some improvement in the situation and for the present no further action is proposed.
