§ Mr. Colemanasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action Her Majesty's Government have taken in respect of Recommendation 648 (1971) adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on the 6th October 1971, and in respect of Resolution (71) 26 of 37W the 15th October 1971 of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe; and if he will make a statement on the latest position in respect of British aid to the victims of the events in East Pakistan and India.
§ Mr. Anthony RoyleAs my right hon. Friend announced in the House on 18th October the British Government's total contribution to the relief of the refugees in India now amounts to over £14¾ million and £2 million for relief in East Pakistan. We hope that this response to the United Nations' appeals will lead to further relief contribution from other countries.—[Vol. 823, c. 373.]
