§ Mr. Dudley Smith:Not all redundancies are notified to my Department, but our records show that 239 workpeople are due to become redundant in the paper industry in Scotland. All the resources of this Department, including job teams, special canvassing for vacancies and opportunities for training, are being made available, as appropriate, to help the redundant workers secure alternative employment.

§ Mr. Dudley Smith:At June, 1970 the estimated number of employees in employment in Scotland in the paper and board industry (minimum list heading 481 of the Standard Industrial Classification) was 16,100 of which 11,700 were male and 4,400 were female.
