CarrIt is quite clear that the general level of settlements has fallen gradually this year from the peak reached at the end of last year, and since the beginning of this year the wage rate and earning indices have risen by less than 7 per cent. compared with 8 per cent. and 9.4 per cent. in the same periods last year.
