§ Mr. AlisonOf the total employed persons in Great Britain in 1961 the Census showed that 30.9 per cent. were salary-earners and 69.1 per cent. wage-earners. In the 1966 Sample Census these proportions were 32.9 per cent. and 67.1 per cent. respectively. The figures from the 1971 Census are not yet available.
