asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the percentage of those wholly unemployed and temporarily stopped in the Coventry and Nuneaton areas for the latest convenient date; and how these compare with each of the years 1964 to 1970.

Mr. Dudley Smith

The rate of unemployment for those who were wholly unemployed in October, 1971, in the Coventry travel-to-work area, which includes Nuneaton, was 4.4 per cent. The rate of unemployment for all those registered, including an abnormally large number of temporarily stopped workers, was 11.3 per cent.
