§ Mr. Harold Walkerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will hold an inquiry into the persistent denial of National Health Service renal dialysis to Mr. Zahoor Ahmed, who is suffering from chronic renal disease which, without dialysis, will be fatal, and about whom the hon. Member for Doncaster has been in correspondence with him.
§ Mr. AlisonDecisions concerning the treatment of a patient, including those on the possibility of acceptance for dialysis, are matters which are fully within the clinical discretion of the doctor or doctors concerned. These are matters on which my right hon. Friend cannot intervene. I have written further to the hon. Member about Mr. Zahoor Ahmed.
