§ 26. Mrs. Joyce Butlerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he 105W will initiate discussions with local health authorities in order to promote the extension of cervical cancer screening services to all women at risk.
§ Mr. AlisonNo. We see no present need for such discussions. Local health authorities are already fully aware of the need to promote the screening of women aged 35 and over, the group of women considered to be most at risk of developing cancer of the cervix. The number of examinations undertaken, at all ages, has risen annually since the start of the service in 1967.
