§ Mr. ChatawayThe preliminary work and negotiations for this project took place under the auspices of the Conférence Européenne des Administrations des Postes et des Télécommunications—C.E.P.T.—and in these the United Kingdom Post Office took a prominent part. The actual study, the contract for which has recently been awarded to a British firm of consultants, is a joint venture by 15 European posts and telecommunications administrations. The United Kingdom Post Office will, I understand, continue to make an important contribution to this study through the action group set up to monitor and control the work of the consultants.
