§ Mr. Prescottasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) if the collision of the Liberian tanker 18W "Efplia" in the English Channel will be reported to the Liberian authorities with a request for an investigation by those inspectors recently appointed by the Liberian authorities to look into such collisions involving Liberian vessels in the English Channel;
(2) if he will investigate the circumstances of the collision that occurred between the Liberian tanker "Efplia" and the British coaster "Redthorn" in the English Channel.
§ Mr. Anthony Grant:I have ordered a preliminary inquiry into the collision between the "Efplia" and the "Redthorn" on 1st November, 1971, which is now in progress. The Liberian authorities are co-operating in this inquiry.
