§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether it is the practice of his Department when considering the standard of qualification obtained by a doctor trained abroad to examine the syllabus, the staffing, entry conditions and standards and the equipment of the training establishment; and whether visits are made to the establishments concerned to check on these matters.
§ Sir K. JosephThe recognition of overseas medical qualifications and the arrangement of any related visits, are matters for the General Medical Council; the Council is undertaking a review of the present arrangements for the registration in this country of doctors who have qualified overseas.
