Mr. W. H. K. Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the progress of the consultations he is having with local authorities and other interested parties on the proposed boundaries for the reorganised units of local government in Scotland.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellI have received nearly 160 written observations relating to 82 suggested boundary adjustments. These are now being carefully examined, and where it seems necessary or desirable I will arrange local discussions to give those concerned an opportunity to develop their views.
