asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his latest estimate of the pupil-teacher ratio in primary schools in Wales.

In January, 1970, the pupil-teacher ratio in maintained primary schools in Wales was 25: 1 The figures for January, 1971, will be available shortly and I will write to the hon. Member.
