§ 80. Mr. Arthur Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many road tanker accidents have caused pollution of water courses over the past five years; and if he is satisfied with the labelling, transporting and safety precautions to deal with such emergencies.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerI do not have the figures for five years, but 174 of the accidents to which I referred in my answer to my hon. Friend's earlier Question today involved transport. I am considering how the safeguards against pollution from this source might be improved.
