§ Mr. Gordon CampbellMy direct responsibility for medical research is very limited and no research into the cause and cure of rheumatoid arthritis is being directly supported by my Department. It would not be possible without extensive inquiries to identify the support given from National Health Service funds to 313W research into rheumatoid diseases conducted in hospitals in Scotland which is also supported from other sources such as the Medical Research Council, the universities, or charitable foundations.
