§ Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is aware that there is only one senior house officer out of an establishment of five staffing the accident and emergency department at the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and what action is being taken to deal with this problem.
§ Mr. AlisonI am aware of the position. The service is being maintained with the assistance of general practitioners and the resident medical staff and the hospital authority are continuing their efforts to fill the vacant senior house officer posts.
