§ Mr. David Watkinsasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what progress is being made in the industrial application of the super-conducting electric motor developed at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, under the sponsorship of the National Research Development Corporation.
§ Mr. CorfieldLast month, this motor successfully completed its first run at full power at Fawley power station, Southampton, where it is still in service. Other applications at home and abroad are being considered by N.R.D.C. with the International Research and Development Company Limited who developed the motor.
