§ Dr. Glynasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is aware of the concern expressed by the County Councils Association regarding the future of the schools health service when local authority health functions are transferred to the National Health Service authorities; and if he will ensure that adequate time for consultation between local authority associations and Government Departments is given after the issue of the consultative document.

JosephMy noble Friend the Minister of State met representatives of the Association last week to discuss matters arising from the reorganisation of the National Health Service outside local government. He explained to them the importance which I attach to the smooth and effective transfer of functions to the new health authorities. I intend that there should be close and continuing con-392W sultation with local authority associations after the issue of the consultative document.
