§ 52. Mr. Roy Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what instructions have been given to area offices of his Department concerning National Insurance coverage and its application to the wives of club stewards.
§ Mr. DeanGeneral guidance on contract of service is provided in instructions to the staff of local offices. This has been amplified in the case of wives of club stewards so that where the husband is employed under a contract of service by a club and his wife performs some services for which she receives payment, then she, too, is employed under a contract which,prima facie, is one of service by the club.
