asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what amount of money was spent by the Shipbuilders Board in 1970–71; and what sum is estimated in 1971–72.

The figures are given in the table below.

Figures of expenditure in 1970–71 are provisional. The audited accounts of the Shipbuilding Industry Board will be laid before Parliament later this year.

Estimates of expenditure in 1971–72 were published in the White Paper on Loans from the National Loans Fund 1971–72 (Cmnd. 4635) and in the Supply Estimates 1971–72 Class IV, 5, Subhead G.I.
