HC Deb 04 May 1971 vol 816 cc345-6W
Mr. Gwynoro Jones

asked the Minister of State for Defence if he will give an assurance that the Defence Establishment in Pendine will not be placed in jeopardy, following the acceptance by the Secretary of State for Wales of the findings of the inspector who conducted the public inquiry in to the proposed transfer of the Shoeburyness Gunnery Range to Pembrey.

Mr. Ian Gilmour

There are no present plans for closing the Proof and Experi- mental Establishment at Pendine. In the longer term the future of the Establishment will, of course, depend upon the need of the Ministry of Defence to meet its requirements for range facilities as economically as possible.
