§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he is aware of the new developments in chemical lavatory technology; if he is aware of the possibilities of using this equipment in the homes of disabled people which are difficult to alter structurally; and if he will make a statement;
(2) if he will take steps to inform the health and welfare departments of the 304W usefulness of advanced forms of chemical lavatories for disabled people under the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act, 1970; if he will inform them that substantial discounts are available on the purchase of such equipment; and if he will make a statement;
(3) if he will advise local authorities of the availability of showers with reliable mixer-taps which are frequently more suitable for the bodily hygiene requirements of disabled people; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. AlisonThese matters will be considered amongst others in the course of the forthcoming discussions with the local authority associations following publication of the national survey report on the Handicapped and Impaired in Great Britain.
