§ Mr. Wallasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the aid and resettlement agreement recently signed with the Kenya Government.
§ Mr. WoodThe agreement to which my hon. Friend refers related to the offer of financial aid announced by my predecessor on 15th April, 1970. The aid amounts to £11.5 million. £7.75 million of this will be used for various development purposes to be agreed between the two Governments, including land consolidation and rural development. The remaining £3.75 million will be available for the purchase of British-owned farms under programmes to be agreed between the two Governments.—[Vol. 799, c.257–8.]
