HC Deb 25 March 1971 vol 814 c171W
42. Mr. Dykes

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what are the latest available figures of unemployment and vacancies in the London Borough of Harrow, together with the equivalent statistics of a year earlier.

Mr. Dudley Smith

At March, 1971, the provisional numbers of people registered as wholly unemployed and of notified vacancies remaining unfilled in the area covered by the Harrow employment exchange were 942 and 583 respectively. The corresponding figures for March, 1970, were 975 and 768. The vacancy figures relate only to notified vacancies remaining unfilled and do not purport to measure the total unsatisfied demand for labour.
