§ Mr. Dudley SmithIn the area covered by the Exeter and Exmouth employment exchanges there were at March, 1971,176W 2,066 people registered as wholly unemployed and 733 vacancies remaining unfilled. The corresponding figures for March, 1970, were 2,040 and 807. The vacancy statistics relate only to notified vacancies remaining unfilled and do not purport to measure the total unsatisfied demand for labour. The figures for March 1971, are provisional.
