HL Deb 24 March 1971 vol 316 cc982-3WA
LORD O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps they have taken to find out whether the police would be able to discharge the duties of registration of immigrants, as proposed in the Immigration Bill, without undermining the considerable efforts the police have made towards establishing good relations with immigrant communities.

LORD WINDLESHAM

My right honourable friend has every confidence that the police would be able to discharge these duties without detriment to their relations with the immigrant communities.
