§ Mr. Raisonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he has yet completed his review of the amounts laid down in the Family Income Supplements Act, 1970.
§ Sir K. JosephYes. I shall shortly be laying before Parliament draft regulations to increase the prescribed amount for a one-child family from £15 to £18 per week. The amounts would then increase as before by £2 a week for each additional child. The draft regulations also propose raising the maximum supplement payable from £3 to £4 per week. Subject to parliamentary approval the 147W regulations will operate from the start of the scheme, payments under which begin on 3rd August.
