Friend indicated in circular 10/70 issued on 14th December last, he is looking to local planning authorities to ensure that adequate land is released where36W this can be done without detriment to other planning objectives and he has encouraged them to discuss their proposals with representatives of the building industry. We do not consider a further circular is called for. Prospective developers are free to re-apply for permission where it has been refused in the past, but before doing so they should consider carefully the reasons previously given and my Department's published policy statements such as development control policy notes.
