Mr. Stallard

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what facilities exist in north and north-west London for the training of building trade craftsmen up to City and Guilds standards.

Provision for training is primarily the responsibility of industry. Colleges of further education carry out some training for industry but their primary responsibility is to provide the associated further education. Colleges in north and north-west London offer the following further education courses for the building industry leading to qualifications of the C.G.L.I. at craft level.
