HC Deb 18 March 1971 vol 813 c397W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Prime Minister if he will list the specific responsibilities of each Government Department concerned, in particular the Department of Trade and Industry and of the Environment, in relation to the choice of London's third airport; and if he is satisfied with the co-ordination between them.

The Prime Minister

The decision on the third London airport is a matter for the Government as a whole. The Departments of Trade and Industry and of the Environment have wide-ranging responsibilities in the matter which, in common with the views of other responsible Departments, will be taken fully into account. I am satisfied with the arrangements for co-ordination.
