asked Her Majesty's Government:

With reference to the Reserve Bank of Rhodesia,

  1. (a) what is the cost of all established fees and other expenses since inception;
  2. (b) what are its present functions;
  3. (c) what is the current annual cost of maintenance.

As regards the Reserve Bank's functions, I would refer the noble Lord to the Reserve Bank of Rhodesia Order 1965, as amended in April, 1967. Neither the previous Governor and Directors nor the present Governor and Trustee have received any remuneration for their services in respect of these Orders. Other expenses of the Reserve Bank of Rhodesia in London are a matter for the Governor and Trustee.
