HC Deb 18 March 1971 vol 813 c404W
Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what information as to the views of parents concerning comprehensive education has been notified to his Department; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Thomas

The views of parents concerning comprehensive education should be known to local education authorities before they submit proposals to me for secondary reorganisation.

The interests of parents and other interested bodies are safeguarded by the statutory requirements under Section 13 of the Education Act, 1944. Before I take a decision on reorganisation proposals, submissions from all interested bodies are most carefully considered.
