asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will give financial assistance to the work of the Scottish Pre-School Playgroups Association.

Subject to Parliamentary approval of the Estimates, my right hon. Friend has arranged for a grant of up to £4,000 to the Scottish Pre-School Playgroups Association for the year 1971–72. This grant will enable the Association to employ a full-time adviser and so extend the valuable work it has been doing.
