HC Deb 17 March 1971 vol 813 c326W
Mr. James Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will now announce further targets for motorway construction in the 1970s; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

Schemes now programmed should bring motorways in use in Scotland to about 135 miles by the end of 1975. In addition there will be about 173 miles of dual carriageway trunk roads. Any further schemes will be announced as and when they are approved.
