Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many and what percentage of terminal patients in the City of Leicester during each of the years from 1965 to 1970 were discharged from hospital and died at home within one month, two months, three months, four months, five months and six months, respectively, thereafter;

(2) how many and what percentage of terminal patients in England and Wales during each of the years from 1965 to 1970, were discharged from hospital and died at home within one month, two months, three months, four months, five months and six months, respectively, thereafter;

(3) how many and what percentage of terminal patients in the City of Leicester during each of the years from 1965 to 1970 were discharged from hospital when they were known to be dying;

(4) how many and what percentage of terminal patients in England and Wales during each of the years from 1964 to 1970 were discharged from hospital when they were known to be dying;

(5) how many and what percentage of terminal patients applied for admission to hospitals in England and Wales during each of the years from 1965 to 1970, and were refused admission;

(6) what was the total number of deaths in England and Wales during each of the years 1965 to 1970; how many of the deceased were under the age of 21; how many were retirement pensioners; and how many in each category and what proportion of each category, died in hospital;

(7) what was the total number of deaths in the City of Leicester during each of the years 1965 to 1970; how many of the deceased were under the age of 21; how many were retirement pensioners; and how many in each category, and what proportion of each category died in hospital.
