Mr. Douglas

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what were the number of redundancies in Scotland for the period June, 1970, to March, 1971, with a breakdown by economic subregion and subtracting those incurred in construction and manufacturing.

Not all redundancies are notified to my Department, but the following are the numbers recorded for each of the economic subregions of Scotland during the period 9th June, 1970, to 8th March, 1971:
