Mr. Armstrong

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many men with gross weekly earnings of less than £15 were employed in the Northern Region at the latest count; and what percentage they represent of the total number of men employed.

The following estimates obtained from the New Earnings Survey relate to full-time men aged 21 and over in Northern Region whose pay in the survey period in April, 1970, was not affected by absence and whose gross weekly earnings were less than £15:
