asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps he is taking to reduce the waiting list for hospital beds in the area of Cornwall and Devon served by the Plymouth hospitals.

The South Western Regional Hospital Board have completed schemes at Freedom Fields, Mount Gould and Devonport Hospitals and are planning further improvements which will augment existing facilities.
